Happy World Breastfeeding Week.

This week is World Breastfeeding Week.

What a great thing to celebrate- after all, the Australian Bureau of Statistics notes that 87% of babies in Australia have been breastfed!

But just because Breastfeeding is natural, doesn't mean it is easy. It is hard work, with long hours, the weight of responsibility on your shoulders and hiccups along the way- some which are too huge to overcome- much like every other aspect of parenting! So I would like to raise a glass to give toast to every Mum who has given it a go and everybody who has been there to support those Mums along the way!

And now... a collage of some of my favourite pics of Smidge feeding- you'll note that in the older pictures, he often brings toys along *sigh* the joys of feeding a toddler :) (I wouldn't have it any other way)

And now for Smidge's favourite Breastfeeding Pic- every time he looks at the back of his 'Where's Spot?' book he insists that "Spot have 'na" Bless him- what a cutie!

And this is also my cue to drop in the Australian Breastfeeding Association Helpline number- 1800 686 2 686 (1800 Mum 2 Mum) the wonderful ladies who are always on the end of the line helping you to feed your baby however you choose!
